Discover Zakopane what to see in the Tatras and surrounding area

28 aug ' 26
29 aug ' 26

Zakopane has many faces – from Tatra mountain trails and spectacular views to unique architecture, culture and places full of character. Discover the attractions worth exploring during your stay at the foot of the Tatra Mountains.

It’s worth planning your stay so you have time to experience the most interesting ones.

How many days should you plan for exploring Zakopane?

It all depends on how you want to spend your time.

In one day, you can soak up the atmosphere of Krupówki and take the funicular up Gubałówka. A weekend gives you enough time to also discover Kasprowy Wierch and Kuźnice, and enjoy a short walk in the mountains. Five days is the perfect amount of time to explore Zakopane and the Tatra Mountains at a relaxed pace – from mountain trails and Podhale traditions to unwinding in the thermal baths or at the SPA.

Explore our recommendations below and find inspiration for your stay in Zakopane. Our Guest Relations and Concierge team will be happy to create an itinerary tailored to you, your interests and the length of your stay.

The Heart of Zakopane

Krupówki

Krupówki is just around the corner – only a 800-metre walk from Nosalowy Park Hotel & Spa. We especially recommend visiting in the evening, when the promenade comes to life. Afterwards, join us for dinner at Eleonora Restaurant or Marilor Restaurant.

Wielka Krokiew

For winter sports enthusiasts, we recommend the Stanisław Marusarz Wielka Krokiew – Poland’s largest ski jumping hill and one of Zakopane’s most iconic landmarks. You can visit it all year round, while in winter, together with our Guests, we love cheering on the world’s best ski jumpers during the World Cup competitions.

Views & Cable Cars

Kasprowy Wierch

This is one of the attractions we most often recommend to our Guests. A modern cable car from Kuźnice takes you to an altitude of 1,987 metres above sea level in just over ten minutes, offering spectacular panoramic views of the Tatra Mountains. We recommend booking tickets in advance, especially in summer and winter – our Concierge will be happy to take care of this for you.
[3.5 km to the cable car station in Kuźnice / approx. 8 min by car from the hotel]

Gubałówka

Equally spectacular views await on Gubałówka, which is most conveniently reached by funicular railway. We especially recommend this trip to our Guests in the evening – the panorama of the Tatra Mountains and Zakopane at sunset is impressive all year round.

Sky Walk Poronin

For Guests looking for something completely different, we recommend Sky Walk Serce Poronina, located just a short drive from the hotel. A walk along the panoramic walkway suspended above the ground is an attraction we especially recommend for families with children.

Nature and Tatra Trails

Kuźnice

Kuźnice is one of the main gateways to Tatra National Park and the starting point for many of the routes we recommend. This is where the cable car to Kasprowy Wierch departs, while for Guests looking for a more leisurely walk, it is also a great place for a short warm-up before a longer hike.

The Most Beautiful Tatra Trails

The routes we most often recommend to our Guests include Morskie Oko, the Kościeliska Valley, the Chochołowska Valley, Nosal, Giewont and Hala Gąsienicowa. Each of these places has its own unique character, so we will be happy to advise you on which one best suits your fitness level and the time you have available.

Would you prefer to explore with a guide or in a more unusual way – by bike or even from a bird’s-eye view? Discover our range of activities, organised together with our Guest Relations team.

Culture and Traditions of Podhale

Oscypek Museum

For Guests who would like to discover the authentic flavours of Podhale, we recommend the Oscypek Museum. Interactive workshops offer an opportunity to see how this traditional cheese is made and even make your own oscypek. It is one of our favourite recommendations for a day with less intensive physical activity.

The Tatra Museum and Tatra National Park Nature Education Centre

For Guests interested in the history and culture of Podhale, we recommend the Dr Tytus Chałubiński Tatra Museum and the Tatra National Park Nature Education Centre, where you can discover the nature, fauna and flora of the Tatra Mountains in a modern and interactive way.

Willa Oksza

Willa Oksza, an elegant wooden villa designed by Stanisław Witkiewicz, is now home to the Tatra Museum’s Gallery of 20th-Century Art. We recommend it to Guests who would like to discover how Zakopane-style architecture meets art inspired by the Tatra Mountains.

Relaxation After Mountain Hikes

Thermal waters – a natural treasure of Podhale

Podhale is renowned for its abundance of thermal waters, valued for their relaxing and health-promoting properties. Several popular thermal complexes can be found near Zakopane, including Zakopane Thermal Baths and Chochołowskie Thermal Baths. They are a perfect way to unwind after a day of hiking in the mountains or a great alternative when the weather is less favourable.

If you prefer to stay at the hotel, we invite you to NABE SPA and the Wellness area at Nosalowy Park Hotel & Spa, featuring a swimming pool, saunas and a brine graduation tower.
